I just noticed a little strange behavior with center dash lighting. For a few brief seconds the light brightness became really bright and went to normal. Anyone encounter this? I never notice it until today cause it was real cloudy this morning. Anyway, at first I thought the headlight coming on but that wasn't the case. Usually my last Nissan change the light brightness automatically when the headlight comes on, but this car doesn't do that.

There's a light sensor that is separate, and not tied to your headlights. The brightness adjusts based on the sensor--not just becuase you turn on your headlights. There's a little **** to the left of the steering wheel--if you turn it all the way clockwise, it clicks, and keeps the dash lights on bright.
I believe it's on the top of the dash, near the windshield, on the passenger side of the vehicle. Further, I believe it IS the same sensor that switches the headlights on and off when they are in "AUTO" mode.

Sorry-what I meant is that the sensitivity may not match. I had the dealer set my LPS for headlight sensitivity to 1--so my headlights may stay on, even though the dash gets brighter.

True, even with the default LPS settings. As it starts to get dark, my headlights switch on first, then as it gets darker still, the nav screen switches from day mode (white background) to night mode (black background) and the instrument lights dim.
