Bought a 250, loved it for a year! Needed more power, traded it for a 350, and love it more and more everyday!

I have had my 350 for a few months now. It is nice but no race car. I went from an 01' Z06 to this car and there is NOOO comparison in performance, and there never will be. There are LOTS of cars that will beat the 350. There were very few that would beat my Z06. Lexus is a luxury brand. If I could go back, I would get the loaded 250 and have all of the luxury features in this very nice economical car.

I like the 350, but in my opinion, it is not that fast and WASTES way toooo much gas for the little power it has.

Oh and btw... I was driving my 06' honda civic coupe as a daily driver and it was a 4 cylinder, so the 250 couldn't be as slow as the honda. I didn't mind b/cuz I love the economy.

I'd go loaded 250.

Heres a question then, is your Civic faster than or slower than a scion tc, cuz the tc is faster than a 250. That has been established.

u know... I don't know. I never raced any cars in my civic. It felt kinda silly trying to race a little 130 hp car in the first place.

Is it even possible to put OEM nav afterward? Or you meant one of those portable nav?

My parents were deciding the same thing, went with 250, better mileage...although honestly I doubt they even care.

Brand new 07, black on black with chrome OEM wheels, 2nd step to being fully loaded, and w/o rear spoiler, with 3 miles on it. Dealer held another one for us with like, 18 miles, but then someone sold it, and then they were trying to find another one, and they found the one I have now, and when they found it in the garage, it still had the wrapping on it and all.

I didn't get it to race, just to go from point A to B in luxury and get looks at every intersection. So I'm not disappointed at all with the 250. The loss in power helps me, I've already gotten one ticket, and I don't even want to think about how many I could have gotten..haha.

You probably can install the Lexus nav afterwards, but it might cost a lot and have some problems.

glad I stumbled into the IS forum today. I'm in a similiar situation. I have a 2000 RX300 with 69k miles and perfect condition. I'm a student at FAU right now in Boca Raton, FL and commute down one road everyday. Let me remind you, I'm 19 driving a 4x4 V6 SUV back and forth to school. Yea, no problem with having a "LEXUS RX", but the fact that I'm going back and forth city mpg everyday has driven me insane when I think about how much of a waste this tank that gets 15mpg is. ok fine I get 17. without a/c. in Florida. Do I have you thinking "he should get an IS" yet? I'm looking to sell my RX, whether it be for 10 to a dealer and take the cash or 12/13 from a private buyer. I'm looking to use the cash to pay off payments on a new car for however long that lasts me and then by then I'll have money per month to pay.

Now that you know my situation, well except for that the only thing in the world I want is a Mini haha...but anyway. I was going to talk to my dad about a Mini or an IS today but i wanted to know a few things first...

My RX is a 3.0L or w/e engine. 4x4. what is going to feel faster to me, a 250 or my RX? Oh and not 4x4 250, that'd b a waste of mpg. Obviously I dont think a 350 would b logical either because I am looking to get better mpg (and use my a/c!). And if I get the IS250 what should I put in it...or better yet, how can I best configure it to get the most out of it? What is the service or w/e that I'll get done to the car...warrantee's all that stuff. Is the 250 a good car haha...totally an opinion, but will i be pleased and will it fulfill my tiny need for speed sometimes. AKA will it be quick on lane changes and some red light rumbles?!

...i have an essay to write, i don't know why i just wrote all that hahahah...and it'd be easiest for me if you just copy this and insert it into a private message, not because I dont want people to see what you respond with, but because I doubt ill remember to come back in here and check it!

I was faced with the same question last month and I decided to go for the is350 with minimal options. if you are like me who enjoys power over luxury gadgets, go for the 350.....if you prefer all the cool toys and don't care about scions tc's or civic si's passing you by, then get the 250.

Options + price + AWD + extra money for wheels + look the same = IS 250.
If you want performance-oriented mods and you have no problem spending money, pick the IS 350.

I followed ffpower's advice and did not test the 350 -- no need to, since I wasn't getting an IS and foregoing AWD. Double the HP of my old car was fine for me. It does depend what car you are coming from.

You will regret that you don't have NAV. get the IS250, or save up for loaded IS350 lol.
