Hey guys...something I meant to say earlier is that one of the site admins from acurazine.com (my first car forum website) started a biking website www.letspedal.com and is constantly working on it to make it better. It's pretty good already & judging by the success of Acurazine, it'll be great as he builds it up. Sign up, drop by, & enjoy the site. I get nothing for telling you about it other than the satisfaction & some new e-buddies. My s/n is revitupwriteitoff if you sign up.

anywho, yeah, I've tried taking off the wheels & I can hardly fit my wife's bike in there by taking the time & effort to take off both wheels, let alone cram both our bikes in the one trunk. we'd have to take both ISs (yeah, we both have one) just to ride bikes.
Yes, I agree, there is no way you could get two bikes in the trunk. My one fits okay though (55cm frame).

My Softride will not fit in the trunk even with both wheels off. I'd need to remove the bars. It's an XL frame.

I talked to Scott, the guy I've been dealing with at the hitch place, & he told me Wednesday or Thursday he'd have time to actually do the job. I'm going to try to go by the shop tomorrow just to make sure I'm getting what I think I'm getting & to take prelim pictures.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else in the Houston vicinity that would be interested in having this done if it looks good, etc.?

It doesn't rub the paint off mine. I am using the Clear bra material under the rubber feet. Plus I don't like the hitch. I feel better when I can see the bike. Anyhow it's your car and I hope you find what you need.
Happy riding!

Thanks lexem.

Just talked to the guy again - dropping the car off tomorrow morning & it'll be done by the afternoon! I'll take before & after pics of the underbody & the hitch itself...gotta get the car washed first though.

Well...she's done. Just dropped by & picked it up & it's just about what I expected. I'll take pictures when I get home. They called & said they had to cut 1/4" into the very bottom of the bumper, but he sent me a pic of what he had to cut & it didn't look too bad. Sure enough, it flows w/the receiver (as much as a receiver flows w/a sports sedan) and I like it alright. I'm just glad I have a black car & it doesn't stick out.

Anyone drop by letspedal.com yet?

i own a moots mtb as well as a connondale f4, i have had my yakima rack on both of my previous cars and if removed and cleaned every few months the paint should be fine. i bike almost every weekend, so removing the rack when it is not in use seems a little unreasonable to me. see the pictures below of the rack on my solara. i have not put a rack on my IS yet, but maybe we will see one in the near future.
