Let's get back on topic, please.

If you check the Official Discount Off MSRP thread, you'll find that some people have saved over $4k off. Some of those are people that got $10k off...

So now the question becomes why does a dealer have a brand new year old IS on his lot with Sports Package, Nav/ML and chrome wheels with only 4 miles on it. I can't believe it was somehow just lost on the sales lot for the past year. This story doesn't add up. You purchased this car without knowing what year it was? C'mon.....

Sounds like you bought a used car. And the 4 miles was what was on the trip odometer.

Now that the '08s are arriving, your "new" car is 2 years old.

I agree.. Crystal white comes only in '06 models. I paid 37,5k and thought I had a steal.

EDIT:Jumped the gun didn't read all of the post

not many people want to pay for a 350 heavily loaded with the most expensive options, anyone spending that type of money probably bought a GS instead. I could see this car sitting around for a while.

another reason why my car was sitting on the lot for over a month before I swooped in to take it at a good discount (end of the month purchase) and totally avoiding a special order, the typical lexus owner wont pay $3700 for the expensive sport package. Hey worked out for me, guess im not typical

There is a big difference in a car sitting on the lot for over a month and one sitting for over a year. I haven't seen a new 06 since last September when the 07's came out, and I would challenge anyone to try to find a brand new 06 on any Lexus dealer lot at this point. The dealer would have been motivated long ago to liquidate this old stock. There are plenty of Lexus buyers who will pay for the Sports Package or Luxury Package, it is not that hard of a sell.

Sorry, I don't buy the story of him buying a brand new 06 in September 07. Something is fishy, and the story is incomplete.

who knows how long my car wouldve sat on the lot before someone would buy it. When I first discovered the car was actually there, no one else was interested in it, only me. Who knows maybe his car were among the last 06 produced before the 07 kicked in.

If yall really want proof he I guess he can take a picture of his sticker and receipt of the purchase, showing the date/mileage

Excellent condition for that still shows at 35,035 on kbb, I don't think he got ripped off according to the book value. I have no idea what they're going for in the real world though. Only 14 of the 215 listings on autotrader are below 32k, and none are below 29k.

Anyways, that being said, to get one at 4 miles fully loaded wouldn't make sense. Getting it new for what would be some of the cheapest used in America. Salvage title maybe

There's already been a request by a moderator in this thread to STAY ON TOPIC. This thread has been completely hijacked, and it stops here. Apparently we need a little reminder of the CL rules in this thread...

Do not reply to one person in the thread about something totally unrelated. Either use Club Lexus’ private message feature to contact them or start another thread with the new subject.
The next person who doesn't post about whether the OP should tint his taillights red or black faces administrative action for ignoring a moderator request. Consider this your final warning.
