Huh? your point? are you one of those who laugh at the 250 guys cuz they go slower? err... theres alot of faster cars for cheeper than our 350's... you dont goto a lexus dealership in the first place if you want a sports car... wtf are you talking about?
*my first comment on this interesting thead and its to flame a flamer...*
stock.. i could only think... sti and evo... what are the others? our cars aren't super fast but it's pretty decent...
i get 26mpg with my 350!!! you all want to hate cause you don't have the power
Right. My IS350 isn't my fastest car by a long shot. I've got 31 mpg with my 350. It doesn't happen every day, and if you drive your 350 so your all time average fuel economy is 26+ mpg, you really should have bought the 250 because horsepower comes from your gas tank. It's an irrefutable truth. At 26 mpg, you aren't using your hp at all.

1st depends, straight or twisties w/touge rules, everyone thinks 'racing' is about straight line performance. As for 'stock' i was thinking $$$. 20k car with 20k mods = 40k, 40k = is350... but yea thats apples n oranges...
What about a SN-197 mustang? We no-longer have a 1/4mi track on oahu so i dont know how fast they run compaired to our cars, and they're way cheeper. *i say track cuz thats REAL LIFE, not magazine numbers*
First off, not looking for a race car. Just a nice commuting vehicle to replace my 2000 VW Passat with a 2.8L V6 (190 HP, tons of torque).
Will an IS 250 leave me feeling that I've traded down in the powe department? Frannkly I have past tickets and I don't need anything that tempts me to get more.
Thoughts?
I had a 2000 TL with 225hp, and I'm pleased with the 250's power, even with AWD. I haven't driven a 350 (I think I'll request that as a loaner for my 1st service), but I did test a g35x--no regrets.
Drive them both...you will get the 350
If you do any highway driving...you will get the 350
If you're a guy...you will get the 350 (250's are for girls!)

Excuse you?! "250s are for girls"? Not only did you just offend many male 250 owners, but your implication that a "girl" would drive a lesser performance car clearly reflects your limited understanding / capacity. Further, this WOMAN will be driving a 350.
Ya performance cars aren't just for men... some of the best racers in the world are women ... some think its because of their naturally faster reaction times... so if anything else girls are utilize the power for effectively haha

Actually, he only offended the male 250 drivers, if you read him literally.
"250's are for girls" does not imply girls only drive 250's....
like saying, "dresses are for girls"... but girls can also wear pants.

OH NO YOU DIDDNNNT. I guess if you wanna say the 250 is for girls then we could make the assumption that the 350 is for guys who are trying to make up for the lack of something downstairs, but we wouldn't wanna do that...
It's only 3,000 more for 100 HP and better brakes (at least back in Oct 2005). In addition, the difference in fuel economy is only 1-2 mpg for average daily driving for most people (not a big deal).
The main thing is AWD vs. RWD. I went with the IS350 and ended up paying another 2 grand for spare rims, winter tires, and sensors cuz I live where it snows.
