Do you have the Power button on? Is it in snow mode?

Snow mode automatically cancels when you shut off the engine. You can't put it in snow mode without pushing the switch every time.

Wow, i know its OT, but I tried SNOW mode on my 250 yesterday (was bored while sitting in traffic) and wow does that make the IS feel like its a '87 AT corolla!!!

SNOW must stand for Slow NOW mode!

If you got it used I'm going with the gas scenario. SO many people think it's okay to use regular in a performance car without any affect. Add some premium gas and see what happens.

Snow mode can be dangerous if your not used to it, dont try to dart in an out of traffic, you could get rear ended.

As for the OP, if you switch it PWR mode, does it still feel slower? If the pwr mode feels slower than the 'first' car then it may not be a simple ECU reset. If it feels the same, then its the ECU.

Lets say snow =1, reset/new = 3 and pwr =5, my car is 2 right now and i like it this way.

I always drive in snow mode when going through the Pali. Never know when a blizzard may blow through.

Aloha

Take it to the track to get some 1/4 mile times. Many times how fast a car is is all about driver perception. The race track will give you a definitive number that you can compare to what other IS350 drivers are getting.

Can you say "imagination working overtime"?

Unless you took both cars to a drag strip there is no way to know for sure what or if there is a difference...

r u kidding me. the driver can't deff tell a difference in power? so if you drove a 250 and a 350 u would know the difference? well thats what it feels like. and yes i have driven all of them! its very easy to feel the difference between a 5 second 0 to 60 and a 6 second 0 to 60.

The previous owner maybe never step on it, its the VVTI. It will adjust to your driving style soon.

Good Luck

you should've just stuck with adding an aftermarket navigation.. trade from a new IS to a used just because you wanted navigation??

was it the price that made you buy it w/o navigation in the first place?

VVTi doesn't adjust to anything the driver does. Only the transmission does that.
