Hi all,

I just signed up to say thanks to everyone who gave tips in this thread. I bought some secondhand Altezza RS200 pedals to fit to my 5-speed 1993 Corolla and the tips really came in helpful. The one that helped the most was when someone mentioned grinding the head off the tip of a nail. I ended up grinding it off using the bench grinder and then simply hammered the pin out of the accelerator arm. I found it easiest to place the pedal on a piece of wood with a couple of towels underneath. That way you have a hard enough surface to hammer against.

The clutch and brake pedals were difficult to get on at first, but then I smeared some Vaseline all over the metal pedal arm and it slid straight on. Looks so much better than the stock rubber pedals. I also fitted some of the same pedals to my dad's 2001 Toyota Vitz RS and my brother's 1998 Toyota Caldina GT-T.

Here's some pics of the finished project in my Corolla (the dead pedal cover from the Lexus was too large to fit mine unfortunately so I left it how it is) -

Installed the Sports Pedal kit w/ revised accelerator pedal on my ISC over the weekend. Removing the accelerator was the easy part.. that pin is a different story. After 10 mins trying to hammer it out and only having it move 2mm i gave up... ended up dremeling off the plastic oem peddle since ill never use it again.

What i dont understand is... the ISC is a convertible.. which in my book means more sporty than the 4 door sedan. Why in the world is the Sports Pedal NOT a factory standard and why is it NOT even available as an option.

Ahhh, I remember that pin. Took me a good 20 minutes to knock it loose.

accel pedal and pin was easy 20 secs to remove the pin, just gotta have the right punch tool.

the hardest was the new rubber on the brake pedal, always hate doing those heh

just decided to do this mod because my buddy hooked me up on the pedal recall with the updated aluminum pedal to replace my stock rubber accelerator pedal.

Ordered the brake pad and footrest on a lexus trademotion site and picked it up since the dealer is local for about $40 each. This site also had the sport accelerator pad listed for about $28.

Any idea what the part number is for the aluminum pedal for the accelerator? Was it updated after the accelerator recall?

Carson Lexus gave me the part number of 78110-53110 for the updated accelerator pad. Unfortunately, the price just for the individual pad was almost as high as the set of three. Not sure if this is correct though, since online that part's coming up as:

7811053110 $201.03 $0.00 $141.41
Fuel system - Fuel supply - Pedal travel sensor
Pedal travel sensor, is f 2010
SENSOR ASSY ACCELER

That is the entire pedal with electronics, not just the pedal pad.
