The reason I like the look of AAC halos is that they are not like the BMW. They are sleek, and thin, where as the BMW looks more halogen. Yes, it is a nice detail and no reason it cannot be adapted to other applications. In my opinion it is not a copy from another car.
With that said does anyone know if the Umnitza halos are thin like AAC or have a fuller rounder bulb like the BMW?...
I just spoke to Umnitza people. They were unaware AAC had a kit. Their lights are exactly the bimmer lights, fuller with chrome backing.
As mentioned I am very happy with the fitment of my lights from AAC and they can do a fog. Umnitza cannot, nor will they do install, AAC will. I think the fuller bulb would not look as good in the IS as it does in other cars lie BMW. Our healdights are sleeker in nature, therefore I woudl still go with AAC, but for me it is purley aesthethic. Umnitza may very well have a better quality light but Justin does good work and I vouch for him.
Will post pics later today for everyone.
no... the umnitza ones are cold cathode and there is no chrome backing. i dont know how thick the aac ones are but the umnitza ones are cylindrical with about a 1cm diameter through out its entire length. i don't know who you talked to at umnitza but mine were installed by the guy that owns umnitza and that's my car in the pic.
^that's the point we dont wanna be like no riced civic show or otherwise. Leave angel eyes on bmws!
Gotta +1 this guys, sorry. I just sold my bimmer and I say leave the halos off a Lexus. Not hating here, it just seems that if you want a BMW look, you should get a BMW. The price difference is minimal at this point.
I'm working with Matt now to get this product, and working with a local installer to get them installed soon as they arrive. Hopefully I'll be able to show you all personal pictures asap.
Also, my 2cents on the "they are bmw style, leave them on a BMW", as we all know BMW did create this style, as they did with the orginal E36 side mirrors which everyone loved. Then the fender vents, which many companys now also incorporate in their production cars. I personally agree with leaving halo's on a BMW, but seeing as the Lexus IS the perfect shape headlights, and the car is a luxurious car, I think the halo's would "flow" on the Lexus IS.
Now when I see an accord with the cheaper version of halo's, or those cheap halo/angel eye knock offs on other cars, thats what ruins the imagine of halo's for me.
Think back to the IS300 with halo's, they looked pretty cool, didn't they? Sure it's not a Bimmer, but as long it flows and looks clean and not cheap, I think it's classy
