nataSdroL, you and I agree that ,,,,, been there, not going back. My 350 already had tint when i got it ,,,,, looks like 50% or higher (not sure you tell me??) ,,,,, fine for my taste!

20% all around and love it. If you have a black interior, I'd go 35%.

BEWARE: common problems when tinting that you should may your installer aware of:
---be carefull when putting door panels back on not to pop the cable for the lock assembly. You'll get a studder as the doors try to lock themselves but cannot. Simple fix to put the wire back in.
---one-touch up/down windows don't work after install. I don't know what the fix is. Lexus is taking care of it, but check before you leave.
---IS has a tight window seal, but don't let the gap be too big off the edge.

1. i agree with the first one. that happened to me. dealer fixed for free
2. The fix is to individually goto each door and and roll the windows completely down then up.

Installer had to removed the front door panels so that the tint can be properly installed on the front windows... now, one of the window buttons lost the one-touch automatic open/close feature I can still open/close the driver side window but the light on the button keeps flashing indicating that there is a malfunction.

i had 35% on my eclipse and it was dark enough for me. i'm not going to tint my IS though. I spent too much time on honda-tech.com and their ways rubbed off on me. window tint is going out of style in some of the jdm community. i know it's functional too, but i vow to keep my IS modless plus i like the crisp clear look on the new luxury cars like the sl550 mercedes and even some of the really light blue tint.

I have the smokey granite mica with sterling interior also and love the car. I too plan on having the tint installed but was a bit concerned about what % looks and performs best for my car. Did you have any install problems and do you have any pics to share? Thanks!

Followup post...Just got the window tint (Formula One_ceramic) done this past weekend and I love the look. Put 35% all around. Also got the windshield covered in the clear UV/heat reducing film. I can tell the dash is a bit cooler than without it. I think its a must with that big windshield:>)

That is not worth it, if your even going to get a tint at least get 35%... Unless you want it to block out UV rays and that stuff, than 50% is fine, but in order to make it look nicer you are going to want a darker tint.
