I was behind a log truck a year or so ago (in my S2000 before the IS) and watched as one of its rear tires blew...showered with bits of rubber and road debris..but no damange...It will certainly wake you up when it happens

And as far as bending the rules.. well I'm still paying for the inspection sticker.
Here your insurance covers glass/windshield replacement at zero deductable, by law, to avoid people driving around with cracks and damaged glass that can injure them in an accident. The state wants to stop being cheap from being your excuse and then risk is split among all the insured. Not only will you fail your annual inspection here automatically (and you should), but the cops will most certainly pull you over and ticket you because you have no excuse not to get it replaced.

^^^ I kinda like that, would like CA to adopt this. It would make it easier for the CHP to crack down on uninsured or lazy-**** dead beat motorists . . .

I just hit a bird while going at 85mph on the highway!!! For a second, I closed my eyes coz the bird was coming head on and I was like "Oh NOOOOO". Well, I didn't get any scratches or cracks but, the bird must have broken bones. Although, I didn't see it on the ground thru my rear view mirror...
