I was stopping by a friends house the other day, and he leaves on a steep hill. When I was leaving and put my foot off the brake to hit the gas, the car started rolling backwards. Traction hit and immediately stopped the car.

I pulled off in a parking lot today and got out of my car while it was running for about 30 seconds. When I got back in it to drive off I found that I forgot to put the car in park (left it in drive). The car didn’t roll forward at any time. It must have some feature that knows that you have left the car and stops it from rolling forward.
Are you the same guy in the pickup!!

I don't think it's called a feature, rather human "memory loss feature".

He's forgotten that he's parked the car.

thanks buddie. now i have to use a loner for a week

man well what i do is just shut the car off in drive someitmes and it wont move or start unless i take it off.
the only possible way for it not to move in drive is with the park brake/handbrake.

if you leave it in D and turn off the engine the car should beep you! And if you leave it in D without turn off the engine then it is a problem with your car then...
