You installed illegal tint and got caught. Verify the amount, pay your ticket, get legal tint, and have some integrity.
Cops aren't asses for doing their jobs. By the way, if tint tickets did routinely cost this much, people would think twice before totally disregarding the law. Just food for thought.

Wait! I've been thinking, cops have no authority to pick and choose the fine. Only a judge can. You may want to Google the penal code for the appropriate fine.
