I thought that myth had been debunked in another thread?

:P

If my top speed is 45 I average 33mpg.

The savings in gas is or was like 200 a year someone had calculated. I do wish the 350 and 250 did look different though.. maybe the 350 be abit more aggressive since.. it is the aggressor out of the two. :P

to shave the is250 badges you also need to replace the brake calipers also. Otherwise it is still look like the 250.
Who's care about what you have. As long as you feel happy with what you have. That's all matter.....

is there any other way to ascetically distinguish a 250 from a 350 besides the emblems on the back?????? ...yeah, thats how i feel i had a long talk with my friend before i purchased the vehicle....he told me to not be a wienie and get the 350.....so its engraved in my head that i should have gotten the 350..oh well im just happy i got a lexus...

Yea I notice a lot of the 250's de-badge. whatever floats your boat.

The only thing I have ever wondered about 250 owners is that they seem to put 1000's into trying to make their cars faster. I think more people mod their 250's (exhaust/headers/intakes) then 350's. It's like, why not just buy the 350 to begin with? You obviously have the money to mod.

anyways, to answer the original question. I do not think i am better then 250's. Just faster. I let all lexus's over when merging and all that jive. I am kind to all lexus people. bmw's is another story.

Don't take this the wrong way, but does it really matter what the 350 drivers (or any other driver) think about your car? You bought it for YOU, right?

100% disagree.......I'll put my 350 with winter tires, and my skills up against any AWD car in the snow. not in a race, but in a "Get to your location safely" contest.

No offence to anyone with AWD, but I've seen the "I have AWD/4WD, so i'm invincible" attitude way too much. guess what? Doesn't help you stop! haha

Next time there is a snow storm, take note of which kinds of vehicles are disabled or spun out...it's usually an SUV. I've seen a handful or less of RWD cars on the side of the road.

I agree. I mean who can see that small 2 on the car. And why would they pass judgement on that? Its not like these are sports cars. They are just nice looking sedans.

Though, I think you are setting yourself up.... if you have a "3" there, and small brakes.

If you purchased a 250 be happy with the car, it's an amazing piece of technology. The thing is everyone wants the next best thing. 350 owners like myself would likely love an IS-F. The cycle never ceases. Just be happy with what you're in and who cares what the guy/gal next to you thinks about your car.

If any 350 owner thinks he is better then you, because you have a 250 and he has a 350, then he isn't worth associating with. Just be happy and enjoy your 250

I also feel the same way when I see any luxury car without NAV. If you're gonna spend that much cash on a car...get it loaded...you know you want to

Thats just me....i'm shallow...but you asked!
I dont see how having NAV adds any luxury to the car...its definitely adds utility and great covenience but luxury no. I thought nav was the poop when I first got it....but now I never use it. I can definitely see why some people would opt not having NAV, to some people its not really baller status to throw money on something you will never use.

I see both sides of the argument here. As a 350 owner, I sometimes feel that the people that buy the 250 or a 328i or C240 just want to get into the luxury car club at the lowest possible price, where the car itself matters less than brand. Then again, I'm sure some LS and S-class folk look at the IS and 3 series in general like that... So when somebody wants to put on a 350 badge to mask their 250, my suspicions are confirmed... that the 250 guys all wish they had a 350 and want our TSBs and associated prestige, however you define that.

Then again, for people that mod for other people to see only, such as headlight colors sometimes to the detriment of actual lighting functions, or exhausts that destroy all the R&D that went into making the car quiet so other people can hear your 204HP engine straining, how is changing the badge a different form of vanity?

So I say do what you want, as long as you're honest to yourself about why you're doing it. My approval of your car should be worth as much as this post anyway.
