Default tires

as i read on different posts the more air there is between the wheels and the road the more comftable the ride will be...wit that said what are the "tallest" tires i could get on my IS 250 with the oem 18s and would width make a diffence?....performance isnt that big of a priority for me because its just not the way i drive....however traction and treadwear are....any sugestions on what i should look into for my next set... i have about 14000 on the dunlopes....

in a rear wheel drive car, without good grip and traction = performance, it won't be long before you've got lots of air between the tire and the road

The proper way to do what you want is to buy smaller wheels. It's called "-1" or "-2" sizing. That way you'll be able to run a much taller tire without altering the rolling diameter, which would throw off your speedometer, cause clearance issues, etc.

In the winter i am running :

17" Wheel is SPYN D5 Hyper Silver
front 225/45R17 94 R XL
rear 225/50R17 98 R XL

You would have to change the rim to 17's ...... u might get enough $$$ for your OEM rims to pay for them ..... might.
