That's an easy statement to make if you are not affected with this issue.

I guess it would be, but I don't know if I'm affected or not. My VIN number shows that I may be, but I haven't gotten under the car to see if I actually have a leak. I can tell you though, if I do have a leak, I'll get it fixed.

Is this a TSB for the US only? I called up my dealer (in Canada) and they said they haven't heard of anything like this...

I'm in the affected VINs by the way...

My VIN is in there as well, but no oil leak, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Must not have lots of occurrences if the TSB haven't made it here yet.

Have any of you noticed any such leaks? Can the areas where the oil is said to accumulate be seen without much effort?

My 06 IS350 is affected by this problem...

I have 31k miles and brought it in for a final "Going out of warranty" (4 Years in April) inspection, and had already noted to them, that I noticed oil on the bottom engine cover.

They said that this problem was covered by a TSIB (EG001-07) and that they'd need my car for a few days.

I pulled the TSIB and noted that it says 18 Hours and "Engine Assembly: Removal" procedures. Ug!

Not happy about the idea, but I'm going to have them perform the job this week.

Mainly posted, as some were curious about mileage and the problem occuring. I did not notice this problem until after 30k miles.

If it makes you feel any better, it should have been covered by the 6 year 70k warranty

Factory bumper-to-bumper warranty is 4 years/50k miles. That expired for you last month (assuming you're under 50k).

But your powertrain warranty (engine and transmission mainly) is 6 yr/70k miles.

(and major emissions warranty, mainly the catalytic converter, is 8 yr/80k miles)

Sorry, noob here.

My '06 is350 last 6 digit VIN is 003239, if I'm interpreting the TSB correct.. I'm in the affected VIN's? I noticed someone mentioning if this is only for US cars.. can someone confirm? This is a Canadian Car (I can provide the full VIN if necessary). If someone can chim in, that'd be great! Thanks!

Have an 06 IS350 with 47k miles on it.

Noticed motor oil all around the oil pan as well as around the oil filter canister when performing an oil change around 4k miles ago. For the oil filter area leak, it was dripping onto the oil filter plastic access tray. I did notice for the past 6-7k miles, there was a slight burning smell on occassion, esp. when walking to the front of the car after turning it off, but didn't think anything of it.

I check the engine oil level weekly and during the past 4k miles, the oil level is still within the high and low points on the dipstick, so the oil leaks must be really slow. I also did not find any oil drops on the garage floor (or maybe they were just one or 2 drops and I didn't notice them.

I have always changed my own oil using Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 with a genuine Toyota oil filter and gasket. Never went past 5000 miles on an oil change either.

Car is now at the dealer for maybe a week to repair:
- Possibly front and rear engine seals
- TSB for the cam-gear "chatter" upon startup
- 9LG TSB
- Tach and speedometer needles on the instrumentation panel are burnt out in certain sections.

Car is also out of the 4year bumper to bumper warranty, so the IP cluster might be out of pocket, but the drivetrain should be under warranty (6/70k.)

The IS350 has been great, never broke down and is plenty quick and quiet, but these minor issues are of concern about Toyota's quality these days. Steering rack TSB, rear brake caliper TSB, cam gear TSB, engine oil leaks. No biggies as Lexus does fix them for free and get to a loaner during the time, but concerned about long term issues when the car is out of warranty and the costs.

Will update later....
