Does the ash tray pull out?

Does the ash tray pull out?
Can i remove the little metal part next to the cigarette lighter? That'd be a nice spot to put my cell phone...

you can pull the whole thing out..there is a litte tab on the right side of the tray pull it to the right and it should pop up

Wow, I just did it. I never knew the whole thing popped out. It's a perfect little spot for a cellphone/ipod!

I removed mine and now fill it with change to buy daily newspapers.

Great idea...that might even help convince me that the rattles are coming from the change rather than the dash.
