That auto transmission is freakign excellent, but like someone said, the plastic toy's known as paddle shifters on the IS need to be reworked.

And to me the IS is a sports car. stock running 0-60 in 4.9 seconds with many people on here getting 1/4 miles in the low 13's. That's a sports car. It handles like a sumbish and brakes like one too.
i agree also + i traded my old IS300 in on my IS350.Coming from one car with e-shift to the new IS,theirs a huge differance btw the two.The old IS300 shifted much faster.I noticed it on the test drive. The electronic timing needs to be sped up.I want to be able to touch the paddle and it shift in a blink of an eye..

Honestly, I don't care for the transmission in the IS350 nor the handling. It's boring and has too much body roll. I drove the 6spd manual 335i coupe and while BMW's sport suspension for this particular car was a bit soft and floaty (surprising) if I was in the market for a new car, this would probably be it. I'd be curious to see dynos of the 335 against the 350 just to see the power-under-the-curve comparison as the 335 just feels way more powerful throughout the revs.

I know you guys don't want to hear this but my lightly modded 27k TSX handles better than my wife's IS350.

Do not expect a convential automatic which this is with the select shift to work like an SMG or DSG transmision. These are sequential manual transmissions with an automatic clutch. Quite a different beast altogether.

I too traded my IS300 in on the 350 and was immediately disappointed in the lack of immediate shifts.. It doesn't bother me a **** ton but I would love to have it working like the old IS.. Which with it's "normal" transmission shifted almost instantenous..
