to take off emblems or not to?
^Disagreed.
Some people just like the cleaner look without the badges. Also, for us AWD owners, there was no 350 motor for us to choose from, so we're stuck with being a posermobile
Shave the badges if you want.. I for one don't give 2 s***s whether people know I'm driving a lexus or not... in fact I like to keep it low key. It has nothing to do with having a 350 or not.

yup... i think its the same concept of not having FRONT plates... it just looks so much cleaner. i have decided not to shave because i heard it leaves holes but if it didnt leave holes, goodbye badges!
The emblems are virtually invisible! I saw a SGM with the black emblems not too long ago, and I had to drive up within a couple of feet to see if it was a 250 or 350. I prefer the stock silver emblems on my SGM, but to each his own. As for shaving, I like the look of the Lexus emblems, so I vote for ........................don't shave!!
I understand that some of you believe both the G35 and IS look better debadged. It’s a matter of personal taste, and you’re certainly entitled to it.
But I don’t. I believe it takes away from the expressed identification of a quality automobile. The car doesn’t look better to me; it looks erased, bland and lacking recognition. After all, car badging goes back almost 100 years, and if you own a admirable car, you should be proud to display its name and model. It’s a tradition, especially if the car becomes collectable, let’s say, 50 years from now (I used to own a car-show collectable 1951 Pontiac. I would no more take off a badge than paint it with pink polka dots.).
To make an analogy here, and I know it’s a stretch, suppose you became rich enough to purchase the Mona Lisa. Would you scrape off Da Vinci’s signature because you think the painting looks better without it?

Everyone has personal tastes. Well it's your car, beat the crap out of it if you like! But I like mine original as is. In case I want to sell the car, it's easier for the buyer to see it's 250/350 rather than "Ok buddy which model are you selling me?" That's my 2cents.
I dont think people remove the badges from their car because they are embarrassed. That is just flat out retarded. So I guess that means I should remove my "Sentra XE" badge from the back of my $600 1994 Sentra, then no one will know what I drive haha.
Here is what I think. I think the badging on the back of the Lexus IS is pretty nice looking. Some people will hate it anyway, and the shaved look I think looks great too. So to each his own. I will say however, I think you should really hate it to go through the hassle of removing it since its not on with adhesive.
On my EVO, the OEM badging was awful looking and to make it worse, it was 2 different fonts and sizes. Absolutely horrible. 90% of EVO owners replace the USDM badging with the UK badging which says "EVOLUTION VIII" across the center, it looks great. Some guys go for the shaved look, but its easier because its just a simple adhesive.

I've been waiting for an oppurtune time to do so . Unfortunately I got nailed parking perpindicular to a truck throwin' 1 down ,(placing a bet) .When I came out of the sportsbook I still didn't even notice , 'til I got home and saw it 7 hrs later in my garage ,some hooha nailed my driver rear qtr' panel ,(I hit a six teamer (parlay) .Did not make a claim as I have nieghbor who is my SEMA connection and customizer , who fixed it for under 1k and in turn had extra paint (GFM) .So he advised to use the p.i.a.(pain in the *** ) mix to do the rear the right way (pull / fill/ shave/ sand /wet sand /paint) .Cost nada ,considering I dropped $40 for $1600 ,
