When you said "stop short in front of you", do you mean you rear ended him? If so, why is he an idiot?

I'm not being sarcastic. Sorry if it sounded that way. I realize the thread is asking for a replacement bumper. I was just curious if he caused the accident. In any case, JP IS250, you don't have to answer my question.

 

I feel sorry that the guy messed up his car, but Flipsonic is right, it sounds like he was either tailgating or not paying attention. Unless the car in front had no brake lights or was cited for reckless driving, both police and insurance are going to assign fault to the car in back.

Unless the damage is extremely superficial, I'd suggest bringing the car to a good body shop and allowing them to perform the repair. There could be concealed damage, and the car should be checked for alignment.

Without a picture, it's hard to say, but my estimate for a shop to perform the repair (parts and labor) is $800-$1200.

i picked up the police report and it looks good-- the guy was in a lane were no left turns are aloud and i tapped his bumper so its his fault .the bumper isent even bad. it can be buffed out and repainted- but it wont look exactly perfect like a new bumper..soo0 im looking for a new bumper my car is black so if anyone knows anything it would be helpful
