Default HELP - Trunk won't open

OK...

Shut the trunk after throwing in some packages - nothing unusual.

When I got to my destination, neither the trunk release, the key fob, or the electronic button the the deck-lid worked. I had to use the manual key to open the trunk.

Does anyone have an idea of what may have happened, or a possible fix?

Thanks!

Yes. You probably accidently hit the switch in the glove compartment which locks the trunk. Its on the left side of the compartment.

Maybe something got caught in the release mechanism. Does is work OK now without anything in the trunk?

Didn't know there was a switch in the glovebox.

Its the valet mode switch, but on nav equipped cars, it also disables the nav, so you would have noticed if you hit it.

If the problem persists, its probably a relay that is on the fritz. Take it to the dealer.

Thanks...

It was the cut-off switch in the glove box. All is okay. I don't recall putting anything in the glove box, but maybe my passenger did.

Regarding the post about the nav...my nav didn't disable at all...hmm.

Thanks again for the help!

I've used the switch and it didn't disable the nav either.

hmm...i was messing around and with the switch on, and the car not moving, it wouldn't go past the "i agree" screen...maybe i'll try again and see what i can do to replicate what happened.
