Default When talking on your cell...

With my Treo700p is paired with the 2006 IS 350, I sometimes want to talk in private when other passengers are around. So I hit the "Cancel Headset" button on the treo, and the treo works like a normal phone for the duration of the call.

The IS however stays on the phone call screen, so it's clearly aware that I'm on the phone. However, as soon as I transfer the call, it starts playing music out of car speakers drowining out my conversation.

Is that how it's supposed to work? I actually expected that too happen, but was suprised to see that the car tell when I'm still on the phone, but just not using the built-in radio. However, if it can detect my call, I'd expect it to keep the music muted.

How does it work for your phones? (mention phone model if you can)

I press the "transfer" button on the car's touchscreen, which transfers the call back to the phone handset. (My phone is a Verizon V3c RAZR that I flashed with Alltel firmware). When I transfer the call back to the handset, the stereo resumes playing, so I have to turn it off manually if I'm staying in the car. (Usually I transfer the call to the handset because I've reached my destination, and want to continue talking as I walk away from the car)

Yea, I didn't notice, because the only time I did it I turned the car off right after.

You have a 700p? Do you get the problem where the call ID displayed on the touchscreen is one call behind what you're getting (that is, it displays the previous incoming call, not the current one)?

Yes. I've seen the caller ID on the car displaying the previous call rather than the current one. I can never trust it, after I answered with the wrong name shortly after getting the car. It's a really bizzare bug.

I never use the transfer button, cuz there's one right on the phone which I'm picking up anyway.
