Angry Ticking noise coming from engine

I have an 07 IS350. I hear a tic, tic, tic, noise coming from the engine about 20 seconds to a minute after I start the engine, and its a constant tic, tic, tic, after that. Does anybody have this same problem? Is this normal? I have a couple of mods done to my car, F5 intake and tanabe exhaust. Thanks in advance.

I think its because its direct injection, but ya, they all sound like that.

I suspect this has a lot to do with the sound:

If the pressure is not as specified, check the fuel pump, high pressure side fuel pump, fuel pressure sensor and wirings.
Standard low pressure injection is ~40 psi.

The ticking noise is caused by the high pressure direct injection system used by the engine - similar to the modern common rail diesel engines. It gives a more precise fuel burn, resulting in better fuel economy and lower emissions.

Listened to one of the new G35s? 335s? They don't sound like a 1988 Civic with 200K miles.

It has nothing to do with the amount of ponies it has. It has to do with direct injection, which the IS250 also has producing 204 ponies.

I got annoyed with that at first but i'm numb to that sound now, and you know what i'm begining to actually like it too. Engine sounds good when you get on it.
