i think people need to understand... when you're buying a more expensive car..it doesn't mean that it's faster than cheaper car.. it also doesn't mean that it outhandles cheaper cars....

speed is almost easy to figure out ... 201hp rated and 204hp ... assuming lb-ft is pretty close... take into consideration the weight.. this is a no brainer...

handling... let's the get slalom and g on skidpad... this should of answered your question... am i wrong? let's not go to page 5 guys~~~

Are you saying the RSX has inferior quality? I beg to differ. The RSX Type-S is built in Japan and after 3 years of ragging out my RSX and multiple track day events my Type-S didn't give me one single problem! Also the person who started this thread wanted to know which car would do better at the track, not which car had better quality or had more snop appeal.

they should have...and definitely could have pulled another 20-30 hp from the 250 motor. I would have definitely considered buying it then. Someone find a friend with a 2005-6 SI or RSX-S and do best out of 4 runs against each other..legally. And find out who is faster. Thats what I did with my sister and her M3 vs my 350 (her BF driving w/o her knowledge). And that led to conclusions that I can live with. Very similar straight line accelerating characteristics.

Oh god here we go again..I posted this once on the CL forums, and so many undercover bmw fans were shocked. My sister owns a 2005 M3 SMG, Her boyfriend and I wanted to see how the 350 stacked up against the m3. So we pulled on i-66 3-4 times. The 350 definitely sticks with the m3 in a straight line. .5-1 car length at 60+ mph. This is with VDIM off and PWR mode. But off the line, m3 pulls to quick and kills any hope for someone unwilling to mash and hold the gas...do it and you will stick with it.

Sorry..didnt mean to get off topic, soo back to the topic at hand.

Depends on the condition. If you drop both cars off of a cliff in vacuum they will reach the ground at the same time. So apply the same concept M3 = Is350 = is250 = RSX-S. I hope that helps.

the only edge your IS250 has on the RSX type S is the amount of torque (185 @ 4800 vs 142 @ 6000). on the other hand, the RSX is a lightweight @ < 3000 lbs, while the IS250 weighs in at a hefty ~3500 lbs.

stock vs. stock both cars have about the same amount of horsepower. what's surprising is that lateral acceleration for the RSX is at 0.82 g's, while the IS250 pulls about 0.80g's, mostly due to the VDIM cutting in.

driving skills being equal, i think it'd be a close race but the RSX would probably come out ahead. of course, if the racetrack had a lot of elevation changes (a la laguna seca) the IS250's torque advantage would somewhat help...

oh, what the hell. just go take it to the track and let us know what happens.
