YZZA1 is used on 07 Camry V6 and 05-07 Avalon V6. These engine are the same 3.5 that comes on IS 350. Since I get a wholesale discount at one of the Toyota dealerships i tried to get the YZZA3 part they said that, it is a lexus part number. but since the engine is the same don't you all think YZZA1 oil filter element should fit in IS 350?

I was just curious to know this answer.

A1 A2 A3. the element should be the same, the only difference i saw, was that it came with extra o-rings that our IS doesn't use.

Why not go straight to the source, give Carson or Sewell Lexus a call. Those guys are the parts experts, they can give you the skinny . . .

Default Breaking News!

Apparently there IS an aftermarket source for oil filters for the 2, 3, and 4GR series engines. Scroll to the bottom and there are part numbers for WIX, Purolator, and Luberfiner (never heard of them?!?) filters.

WIX filter site link.

Purolator filter site link.

Luberfiner filter site link. (They seem to be focused on the over-the-road trucking industry.)

This is great news!

The OEM one looks like good synthetic fiber at a descent price. What should we be looking for in the aftermarket again?

Those are what I've been using. Order 5 at a time from Sewell. Placed next to an A2 I got locally and there is no real difference.

Here is a picture of the filter I have been using. You only need to use the included large o ring, not the small one or the clear/white plastic spout. I have also tried the Wix version, however it was a few dollars more and the Toyota one actually appeared slightly better quality on the yellow fins, although not much difference. The Toyota dealers I have purchased this from charge about $6.

This filter fits; however it does not include the appropriate drain plug washer like the the last one I bought from my local Lexus dealer. I think this is a cheaper (price wise, that is, as it is the same quality) filter and is used for the Camry, so Sewell and Carson are pushing it. I wish I kept the box from the filter I bought locally. The washer was nice to have and should last a few changes until I need to buy another one. It shouldn't be but a dollar or so.

I will guess that the first part of the part # refrences the filter and the second part refrences the o-ring kits. But thats just a guess.
