Default badge question

I need to know if I'll be able to put them back on the car after they've been taken off. will I need any special adhesive to reapply them or will they just stick right back on?

and what are the badges made of?

Badges are made of chromed plastic. You'll need some double-sided badging tape to reapply them. You can find this at AutoZone, and other auto supply stores. I think 3M even makes tape that's labeled as "Badge adhesive."

yes, be careful not to chip any of the "chrome' you'll have an ugly yellow plastic showing through.

take some pics of your experiment, be happy to see some work in progress on an 07 for badges.

You may want to consider putting on new emblems instead of refitting your old ones. I say that because the new emblems will include custom-cut adhesive that closely follows the shape of the emblems, and will likely give a better looking finish. However, if you are careful, you may be able to cut some 3M Mounting Tape to fit your present emblems. The 3M Mounting tape is very stick and a bit hard to handle when I used it.

Good luck.

I looked online for emblem adhesive and I found a liquidish type stuff, made by 3m. I was thinking of trying that. I know someone on this board who has taken them off and reapplied them.

I know two of the letters are attatched by holes but I think they're also stuck with adhesive.

Don't hold me to this but I believe only the Lexus doesn't have holes. The L logo has one or two and the S and 0 both have em too.

The Lexus also has 2 or 3 holes. I remember there was a total of 6 when I removed the badges.

How did you fill the holes? Did you take it to a body shop? And if you did, how much did you pay? (if you dont mind me asking)
