This is not entirely true. Although a proper seal is important to reduce corrosion of the stem, plastic caps with a simple small o-ring are suitable. In Chicago winters were salt is over used on the roads, chrome caps can often seize and break the TPMS sensors which is one unit per wheel. My buddies at Discount Tire see this happen many times a week. I almost had this happen and my car was 8 months old.

Just go to the service center after hours and walk up to any tech that is still there. they will give them to you

I just noticed this weekend cleaning the TSX that they where taken for them passenger side or the dealer forgot to put them on last time??

Mine have been stolen at least 5-6 times and they've went missing after visits to discount tire. I have aftermarket rims and replacements are about 2 bucks a pack so I just started buying multiple packs. I regularly check my tire pressure so I usually have to replace at least one once every 2-3 months. I know this doesn't help with the OEM replacement but I just had to vent.

I'm a little surprised people are complaining about the caps costing $32. Thats about what the windshield wiper inserts cost, and those are just strips of rubber. It cost upwards of $60 to fill up the tank, and some of you probably do that every week or so. Did anyone think paying a premium for a car with the Lexus name on it would mean parts and service would come at a discount? BTW I had two of mine "stolen" while it was at the dealership getting the tpms' replaced so I made sure they replaced them.

There is a reason why gas costs +$60. The wiper inserts cost $15 from Sewell. Understandable as well. Paying $32 for small valve caps is excessive, when the more upscale chrome caps from Sewell only cost $15.

If you haven't got any yet, go to walmart. They have them for under 5 bucks and no waiting or shipping fees. lol

I try to stay away from the dealer as much as I can.

I'm not saying isn't $32 overpriced. I'm saying it shouldn't be surprising. This is the same company that charges $5.00 for a $1.00 battery for our key fobs. $2.00 for a plastic engine clip. $250 for a basic oil change and "fluid check". $15x2 is $30 for 2 strips of rubber. At walmart you get two whole blades for $20, not just the inserts. Because of Sewell's internet business they do more volume then probably any other Lexus dealership in the country and are the exception.

Quote: I hate to say this, but when I was in the fourth grade it was popular to take chromies from other people's cars and put them on your bike. It got to the point where some people had a whole collection. Looking back, I would have been pissed if I had owned one of those cars.
Hahaha ya when I was a kid I remember this. One time I actually started taking a bunch of metal caps, but halfway through I felt bad so I thought I was robin hood and put the "expensive chromies" on the crappiest cars I could find. Wow kids are stupid lol.
