Difficulty it Getting At Some Fuses
I’m having a cell phone problem I’ve had before with my G35. It seems some cell phone car chargers eventually short out both the 12-volt plug and the cigarette lighter plug. Of course, before replacing the charger I first must replace the two burned out fuses. But that’s easier said than done in our 2IS.
The two 15amp fuses are located on the passenger’s side fuse block per the owner’s manual. But it’s almost impossible to get at them. The small block is right below the glove box, in a horizontal plane there. I have spare fuses and a fuse puller, but there’s just not enough room to get my head and hands up there at the same time. Using a mirror didn’t help. After nearly breaking my back I said the hell with it and tried to put back the fuse block cover, but it got swallowed up by the lower panel!
I’ll let the dealer do it, I guess, while we charge the cell phone at home for awhile. It seems the only solution is to buy some bananas and train a small monkey to reach up there and pull them. But does anyone know the trick for humans to get at these fuses? What does the dealer do?
