well first of all the the cd that you are playing it supposed to said text cd, that means that the cd has the text information on it. If is not, the cd player will not display text
Had my CD/radio unit replaced a couple months ago under warranty (CD quit working), and after that I noticed that the song titles showed up on my homemade CDs. I don't pay that much attention to it, but think that was a change. On the old unit, I had seen titles before, but had to push buttons, I think, like y'all are saying. Maybe they changed them after 2006?
Yea I get the samething for HOMEMADE Cds. The name shows up on text and also shows the Artist and Song Title. I also never had to change my CD/Radio unit before so it must be working fine or it may be because its and 08'?! I'm not to sure.

Well...you would need to press TEXT on your CD/Radio unit. Also what I seem to find weird is that when you play BOUGHT CDs the title sometimes does not show. But, on my HOMEMADE CDs it always says the Artist and Title name of the song.
It could be because of the fact that you have a Nav. system?! Because where the screen is supposed to be is replaced by the A/C and with the CD display screen for the Non-ML's. Sorry for the mix up.
I tried over 6 cd's
Some of them i made and some of them are ones i bought and none of them showed the track or cd name
Well....I can't really help about the Text part for the song titles, but sometimes its just the program you are using to make CDs. I've tried a couple of programs and so far only the Sonic program has worked for me. If that doesn't work, then Lexus really messed up because my Mom's 2000 CR-V Seems to work and for Lexus not working.....LoL!!! Well....you get the picture.
I'm not to technically sure about if its only for windows or mac, but I have windows and it works fine. You should be able to get it at Best Buy, Circuit City, or any store that sells computer software. Here is also their website: Sonic Solutions & This is the program that I'am currently using: Roxio RecordNow (The company is still with Sonic)
If you have a home-made cd and it is not showing the Artist/title/album the Id3 tags are blank! You can edit the id3 tags on your pc (through winamp and other popular music players), changing the filename alone won't populate your id3 tags! Anyone with an ipod should know the frustrations of having to update id3 tags as apple sorts mp3s by them
