Hey all, picked up my graphite gray/black '07 IS350 tonight. Pictures not included, you all know what it looks like anyway.

Anyway, I'm having a great time learning all the ins and outs of the car, but a few questions:

Will doing that wire-splicing trick on the radio/nav system cause the speed-sensing volume feature to become inactive?

What are the best snow tires for the car? How does it do in the snow, anyway?

edit:
Can you burn data DVD-R's full of, say, MP3's and have it play on the system?

Congrats on your purchase. I have my Nav hacked and I don't have any issue with speed-sensing volume. Check this thread for proper procedure https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=193739 Enjoy your new car man.

I'm wondering about the snow performance as well. I want to purchase the IS 350 and live in Canada where we get a fair amount of snow. I'd love to know what snows to get and more importantly how the IS 350 will do in the snow.

having the vdim in the snow will help but i am afraid to say you will have hard time handling the vehicle. first you wont be able to turn the car in the snow cause front isnt heavy.. would suggest going with chains in the winter.. i have one myself but i live in tennessee.. so good luck you all

Thanks for your input, but...I think you may be wrong about this one.

I think you may be off a bit. I don't know anybody that put snow chains on their RWD cars, we only put chains on our snowblower tires.

I also think the IS is heavier in the front than the back. Many people overreact to the snow. Put on good quality snow tires (Blizzaks, Nokian I hear are good) and don't drive stupidly and you should be fine.
