Default The new IS has arrived!

GREAT NEWS , Lexus launched the IS in the Middle East Gulf countries, FINALLY! That's the good news.
The not so good news; it's not an IS350, nor an IS250... it's an IS300! (Why not the 350??? )
So it's a 3.0L engine V6 with 228 hp and 30.6 kg-m of torque at 4400 rpm. Does 0-60 in around 7.7 seconds. Yay... I really hope they get the 350 in the future, I want 0-60 in the 5 second range.

heard it doesnt have direct injection, DI requires certain fuel qualities so thats one reason why you dont get the DI 350, plus the 300 is a good compromise b/t them, and the 300 DI will come to the states someday

I'll rather have a non Direct Injected IS300 than a lower HP Direct Injected IS250 ANYDAY!!!

They need to seriously brin the IS300 here to the US!

4TehNguyen I don't think that's it. The new LS is going to have direct injection and it's coming to the M-E. So I don't think it's about the fuel qualities. Who ever made the decision of not getting the 350 in addition to the 300 made a bad decision. I mean, thank god they didn’t just get the IS250.
Lexus says the ES is more about luxury and the IS is more about sportyness, but the only ES350 is faster than the only IS300 we can buy here… I know acceleration is not the only thing that makes the IS sporty (it’s the styling, the chassis, suspension, gearing, steering etc but still). Plus, we don't care about fuel economy as much as Europeans or Americans because oil is so cheap here it makes water look expensive! (seriously, a litre of bottled water is more expensive than a litre of gasoline; and water is cheap here)
AAAAAAh, oh well, I’ll have to test drive it, maybe it’s not as bad as I think. Plus, I’m sure I’ll forget all about this when I see one on the road (it’s such a good looking car).

Oh, I thought that was just speculations. I just wanted everyone to know the IS is in the ME in 3.0 L version.
Maybe the mods should delete this thread or merge it.
