does anyone know if the 'V6' and 'L' emblems on the engine cover are removable? i got the cover color-matched but i wanted to match the emblems with my black pearl ones. can i remove them without damaging the emblems?

I didn't remove my emblems to paint the engine valve cover, but from what I observed, it looks like the 'V6' is not an emblem, but is actually part of the cover itself. The circle L logo, on the other hand, looks like it's held in place by adhesive, meaning you should be able to remove it carefully.

p.s. - By the way, can you post the pictures of your painted cover? I'm dying to see what it looks like painted Matador Red!!!

yeah i will... i haven't had the time. just started school again today. it looks great. when they painted the cover, i don't think everything around the L got painted. so i was planning to take it off and put vinyl under it. but if i can't paint the v6 logo, i won't paint the L either...

Default engine cover emblems

I have my engine cover painted, but i want to black pearl the emblems on there. I know the V6 part is connected but the L is removable. I just don't know how to remove it. If you look on the underside of the cover, it looks like there's 4 pegs/holes where it looks like the emblem is held on. Does anyone know if it is held on by adhesive or if you have to drill it out from the bottom?

I did not pay attention when I took it to my bud's shop...
Yes, the Lex emblem can be ezly removed, and I remember the "V6" part in raised lettering is actually the same molding piece of that hood.

I am not very sure but that is what I remember.

I'm getting a sense of deja vu reading this thread. Didn't you just ask this question a few days ago?

An easy way to find it is to click on your name to the left of any post, select user profile. Then select the 'find posts started by...' option.

Took me all of 10 seconds to find the old post and merge it with this one.... and I'm lazy too
