That should buff right out!

J/K, I feel bad for you (and your g/f). Make sure to pursue a "Diminished Value" claim with the other driver's insurance. It is a true loss that you should be compensated for.

What's so bad about that damage? It's all surface. It'll be in and out of shop in a matter of days, and they'll never know it was in an accident.

I agree that the damage isn't severe, but it still sucks to be in any type of accident, even a relatively minor one.

It isn't THAT big of a deal, but it will probably spend weeks waiting for parts. It took 3 weeks for the Lexus body shop to get the parts to fix my broken driver door window. I also believe that this will show up on CarFax, and the paint won't match perfectly (especially over time). I'm not being pessimistic about the repair, or how nice the car will be after the repair, but it does have an impact on value.

I don't know what I would push for, but I don't think I would push for that. I would much rather push for them to paint and repaint the repaired areas until it matched than to replace all the factory paint with aftermarket paint. I don't know about paint technology, but I've never seen an aftermarket paint job that looked "better" than a factory paint job (on mass produced cars anyway).
