If you look around on the internet, everyone has something different to say about how to break in your motor. some say run it hard, some say vary the speed and rpm frequently and keeping the revs around 2-4 rpm. I took the varied speed and rpm route, running a new engine hard sounds a little retarded to me. So try to find as much stop and go traffic as you can, do that for about 500 miles, then go on a long road trip and cruise for another 500. you should be good. I'm obviously not an engineer or anything, but that technique is the most consistent one I've heard.
