Ok I'm driving home from the gym last night and as i'm entering the high entrance ramp, i notice huge branches and leaves all over the road,
I slam on the brakes and stop a few feet short of them.Had I kept going they would of put a few gouches in my bumper or skirts for sure.. So i slowly back up a few feet to allow myself to cut a hard left to go around them, as I put the car in drive I hear (KA-BOOM). half of the rest of the tree comes down about 5 feet behind me. Had it hit me, it might have not killed me but it would of caved in the whole top of the car without a doubt.. I was thinking to myself how ironic it would of been, if it had hit me, Here i am stopping to avoid some bumper scratches and the whole car gets totalled because of it
I lucked out..

Also, since there are branches in the front of your IS and tree log behind you, how did you manuver out?

Oh my gosh.....were you having storms up there??? We are expecting Ernesto tonight and tomorrow. When we get these tropical storms the trees and branches are all over too. Glad you are okay!!!

 

Thanks for all the nice gestures... We haven't had any strong winds, just lots of rain.. I guess the saturated branches just gave out.. I just had finished backing up a few feet and was starting to cut a hard left, as the tree behind me came down.. About 20 seconds after it fell, i rocketed out of there, not knowing when and where the next tree limb was going to come down...

 

man i'm sure that was a scary moment after the tree fell behind you! Glad you and the car are ok...sometimes it really pays to be careful

 

wow, i would have definitely needed to change my shorts after a close call like that. glad you're safe.
