Question VDIM cut off switch

So the 07 model will definitely include a VDIM cutoff switch eh!?.... Do you guys think someone will attempt to retrofit this switch in the 06 models?

It's not a VDIM off. It's a VSC & TRAC off. The switch alone will do nothing, there is no change to the switch. The change is in the software in the VSC ECU and in the gauge cluster.

It is very UNlikely it would be a simple retrofit.

Ah but the marketing gurus in the '07 brochure (see other thread) will lead you to believe that there is a VDIM cutoff switch, and not a stability control cutoff (when I say stability control I refer to both Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control).

It's correct in all the other documentation - the new car features and the repair manual. I checked all that stuff out last week when it became available on TIS.

so if the 07 brochure is correct in saying the IS now comes with the VDIM cutoff switch, could we assume that doing the Pedal Dance has no consequences for Warranty?

If this is the case...I'm going to be doing the Pedal Dance ASAP (just to see what the stuff is all about)... Moderators... Champions... feel free to ring in on this one.

what do you base that on?

Insurance rates should actually be going down for the ISX50 cars. Many companies did not have enough data on the safety of the car and based the rates on the previous IS300 series...at least that's what mine told me when I complained about high rates

300 horse power with traction control disabled will lead to a lot of accidents. Wannabe drifters and people trying to do too much with this vehicle. This is just my assumption.

thats probably true. I wonder how our insurance would compare to the M3 and RS4 owners?
