Default ECU for IS

I've looked, but can not find a new modded ECU chip for the Lexus IS. Has anyone heard of one or seen one and how the car performs afterwards?? thanks for the help.

There aren't any out yet. The car is still pretty new and the electronic system is fairly complex. It will take some expensive R&D to produce a chip.

thanks for the quick reply. Since there aren't any out yet, can we use another ECU chip from another Lexus model that will work in the IS? Suppose the ES becuase most of the stuff is the same, i dont know if this would work flawlessly or if it is not possible.

Will you need this?

VAC (Velocity Advanced Computer) from HKS.

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/...speed/vac.html

The max speedmeter is 260KM/h. However, the fastest we can run is 225KM/h because of the limiter.
This one is designed to break the limiter.

I ever saw a report from HKS. IS350 with VAC can run to 270KM/h in 5th gear at 6000rpm.

that's true, forgot about the HKS one since it's not really available in US yet. That chip does piggy-back to the ECU and defeats the speed governor.

I really hoping we see some chips soon The HP bolt-ons we have to choice from are fairly limited and debatable on power gains...

You won't ever see "chips" for any Toyota ECM. They hard wire the memory into the ECM. Thankfully it's now flash memory, it used to be nothing but a CPU with onboard PROM, and they'd sever the PROM links after programming to ensure no one could change the code without either a piggyback or a daughterboard with ECM (a la G-Force/Technosquare).

Domestic manufacturers do have replaceable PROMs (or EEPROMs), but Toyota has never done this, and has only very recently decided to go to flash memory. The real win would be to crack the Toyco encryption for the checksum they use, and reprogram the maps for more power friendly operation without the speed limiters. FWIW, the entire Scion tC community has been trying to crack their ECM to get rid of the 127 mph top speed limiter since the car's release without success.
