I used the water + dish detergent method. Using a hair-dryer was also very helpful for finishing.

For those who have installed the smoked-out tailights, how is the film shaped so that it can wrap around the "aerodynamics" of the tailight? Doesn't look possible to me with a flat piece of vinyl.
I was just at Aerotect this past weekend to get the clear bra and red outs and they told me the smoke out tails is not 1 piece, but actually 3 seperate pieces that join together. They also said it is somewhat tough to do for someone that has never done it. Good luck

I used dishwashing soap as well but did not need a hair dryer.

On a side note: I used to spray tails but the vinyl on the ISX50 matches much better and more importantly, doesn't fade.

For future buyers:

The vinyl i used was not precut (rvinyl) but i felt that the color matched better than the aerotect (which looks a little too dark in some angles). I suggest that you do a search to check out the color differences...

You might also want to purchase the aerotect just to use as a stencil...since the vinyl itself is pretty cheap.

I used the 1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water.

I didnt do the taillights but did the headlights & fogs. The HL were a PITA for me.
Took maybe 2 minutes for each fog light, like 20 min for each HL. I was
worried some parts wouldnt stick because I had to peel it back to smooth some areas, but
so far so good. All the clouding is gone mayb 1 or 2 small bubbles on each HL.

The hairdryer is a MUST for the headlights!!! Youll be surprised how much it helps on the curves.

Just wanted to share with you guys what I used as a stencil to avoid cutting directly on the taillight. Get some Glad "Press and Seal" -- the clear semi-adhesive plastic wrap for kitchen use-- and press a big piece of it over the tail light. Then take a marker and trace the orange piece... then, pull off the 'press and seal' and press it onto a piece of cardstock (i used a magazine cover), cut out what you traced... and you have your STENCIL!

dang, with all this great info that you guys are putting forth, I can probably become a tint installer. lol.

anyways, just wondering how many of you people have done the whole tail light instead of just tinting the orange strip?? If so, how difficult is it to wrap the whole tail light? I want it to look uniform.

i have the rvinyl and you can't even tell it's an overlay... unless you're upclose, then you can see the edge of the cutout. the color is very uniform tho...

I received the Aerotect red out vinyl today and noticed that the cutout doesn't cover the whole amber portion by about 1/8 of an inch or more, did you guys also notice this? I am going to wait to put it on now since I don't know why it's "short" of the entire amber section, any inputs? guys?

I checked out Aerotect's website and it said they are located in La Verne, CA but someone mentioned Las Vegas in a post above. So do they have 2 locations? I am asking because I go to school in SoCal and I want to go to Aerotect to buy and have the red outs installed.
