I'm afraid not. Stock for stock, the EVO is still quite a bit faster.
From a dig, I agree IF the driver knows what he/she is doing AND they drop their clutch at high RPM's AND they don't spin too long or bog . Go on any Evo forum and put in tranny in the search field. It's a major issue for them as Evos are dogs under 3K RPM. A 2 liter 4 with no boost isn't going to get you off the line very well. They have to keep the revs above that to get their amazing mid 4 0-60's. Even with a great launch, the MR's are only trapping mid 13's. Without a good launch, they're easily into the high 13's or low 14's.
From a roll, the IS should be able to keep up (if not be faster) as it has a better power to weight ratio compared to the evo.

I've heard that they fry clutches left and right, though I havn't heard of any transmission problems.
From a dig (which is generally a given in such statements) they shouldn't have much trouble putting multiple car lengths on the IS350 (ceteris paribus).
From a roll its a whole another story. My own personal experiences with an STi would lead me to believe that an Evo would be highly unlikely to pull on the 350.
It's when they put on beefier aftermarket clutches, thus putting a lot more strain on the tranny itself. Something's gotta give.
Sorry for the thread drift to the original poster.
Interesting point, though none-the-less I've havn't heard too much bickering from the Evolution forums in terms of transmission issues (insofar I found one case that involved a racing clutch and a 7,000 RPM drop). I'll keep searching.
I would be curious to know what the charts would look like with ECT PWR On vs. Off. I wouldn't expect much of a difference if at all, but would be nice to know for sure.
