I just started noticing it, but it's not very noticeable. Only from certain angles will I be able to see it. elghs, did they put up a fight as well?? How long have you had your IS before you noticed it. I've had mine for a week and they're saying that I shoulda noticed it since I've had it for a week already. I'm juste a lil tired of this ***** right about now. I'm gonna try going to another dealer and see if they're better on warranty claims.

i dont see how anyonethink they cant get this claimed on warranty, thats like someone dinging your door, or a rock chipping your hood, and ask for it to be fixed under warranty

Unless it's proven that the glass is defective and too easly scratched. If they get enough complaints about it then they might figure something is up. For now just let 'em know that you think your glass got scratched way too easily.

My dealer replaced the ash tray in my Lexus because the OEM paint was coming off of it - it may have been my fault or the previous owner's fault for handling it too much... I dunno, but I doubt it becuase the tray was mint. I don't smoke and it's pretty obvious the previous owner didn't either. They replaced it no questions asked.

anytime something gets dinged scratched chipped I can claim oh it dings scratches or chips too easily, i want it fixed under warranty because its a defect. Your ashtray is not exposed to daily beating like a windshield or a hood is and I would believe that more over a windshield crack. The ashtray probably cost under 100 bux the IS windshield costs over a 1000 (according to a posted who had his windshield shattered) They definately want to warrant a real warranty claim when it gets that pricey

I believe I mentioned it a few times already that it is my driver's side window and not the windshield. I am not trying to make a claim just because. This is again the driver's side window and is not dinged by rocks. It is actually on the inside as I could feel it.

Didn't have to put up a fight at all. I was a little pissed that they didn't fix the driver's side window tint when it took them a week and didn't put on my new plates or wash the vehicle but they got it done and I just got it back today. Fact I expressed my extreme unhappiness to my service manager assistant and told her that I wanted to get a deal on a clear bra install. We'll see if that happens. May be pushing my luck on that one! I'll let you all know though.

I bought my IS250 at Cerritos Lexus right before New Years (2008). When I picked up my car, did the walk through but did not notice any flaws with the car. After about 2 weeks when the weather cleared up, I noticed 2 scratch marks on the left rear passenger window. If you look at the window straight on and in the shadow you cannot notice the scratch marks. It was when the sun came out that if you looked at the window in an angle, not only were there scratch marks but swrily scratch marks all over the window. Its not noticable unless you look at the window in an angle.

Needless to say, I was afraid that Cerritos Lexus was not going to replace the window because I noticed this 2 weeks after I bought the car to complain about the window. I called the sales person who sold me the car, told me to come in, and he said that they would replace the window.

I am happy to say that they did replace the window for free but another problem arose. The technicians who replaced the window did not reinstall the inside door paneling correctly. There were clips missing and the panel was noticebly loose. Called the servicing dept and told me to come back and they would try to fix this. Got to the dealership and I had to wait about 30 minutes and told me the car was done. Well after inspecting the door, the bottom corner of the panel was loose.

I was pretty upset at this point and complained to the service manager that the door panel has to be installed correctly and did not understand why the technicians did not have any pride in their work.

Anyways, Cerritos told me to come back, they would give me a loaner car and get this fix correctly. Such a pain in the butt but the good thing is that I dont have to pay a dime. Its just the fact that they should have done this right the first time.

So I am scheduled to go back next week to get the door panel installed correctly.

This is good news for now......I am only writing this to vent a little.......Just wish they did it right the first time.

man I have 100 scratches on my windshield. I am going to raise hell at lexus. I have never seen this before on any car I have owned before. This is really frustrating bec the windshields are so exspensive. If they tell me its not covered I am going to flip
