I passed on the PCS. Didn't want the price of the car to get any higher...plus, I don't want to get lazy and rely on this too much

I had to draw the line somewhere. I order the ML stereo, parking assist, nav, and luxury package. I use cruise control on the back roads in CT at 30 mph. Don't laugh, there's cops all over the place but I just wasn't going to pay another $2,800.

One question. Has anyone tried the ACC in city driving? I saw a show where they had a car with ACC that stopped behind another car at a red light. As soon as the front car started so did they. I don't think the one offered by Lexus is that sophisticated but I'd probably buy it if it could do that! It also had the feature where it would apply the exact amount of breaking based on it's calcuation of how much is necessary and if it determined you weren't breaking enough.

I am pretty sure what you saw is the "distronic plus" of the new Mercedes S-class. As far as I know, only MB offers that in only that model for the time being. I read that it works extremely well and is very precise. I suspect eventually all luxury names will have a version of it. For Lexus it would first make its way to the LS.

I just got a GS, but my sense of the allocations in the GS is that almost none of the cars come with ACC/PCS. That leaves a special order, and I wasn't willing to do that.

Had there been a GS300/AWD on the lot that truly was"fully loaded", as opposed to mine which had everything except ACC/PCS, I would have seriously considered it. But mostly for the ACC.
