I have a Sirius Sportster with a temporary lash up, brought over from my last vehicle. It's interfaced through the FM radio. I have the Lexus Sirius unit on pre-order from lexus-parts.com.

My thoughts exactly. I don't have satellite radio in my car yet, but I will be going with XM. I've already been an XM subscriber for a couple of years now. It's kinda like cable TV, you don't think it's all that until it goes away and realize how crappy the variety is on regular TV.

At least with satellite, you could listen to let's say dance music or rock or whatever anytime you want because they have stations that cater to that specific genre.

It's exactly like cable TV in that once you have it you can hardly imagine living without it, at least if you were a radio listener in the first place. (Actually, it's better than cable in that I can always find something to listen to on XM but 90% of the time I can't find anything worth watching on the gazillion cable channels I'm paying for!)

Isn't this going to be biased since Sirius is not yet available with the IS?

I may get sirus only because it has a trance and progressive tecno chanel. Other than that ill stick to my creative zen and my burned cds. I only listen to trance anyway. And reggae lol.

And Hawaii's choice in radio really stinks too! I was out there on my honeymoon for 2 weeks and couldnt stand it. thats a place where satellite radio is required!

XM has channel 82 "The System" and channel 84 "Chill" which are both trance/techno/electronica channels, as well as channel 101 "The Joint", which is all reggae

Didn't order it. I haven't listened to it, but, I have never heard any subscribers say anything but praise. I generally spend about 25 min./day round trip from work and home. Usually I'm lucky if I hear one complete song (almost all commercials) on traditional radio, so I've just become accustomed to listening to cd's. If I spent more time in my car, I would probably be much more interested.
