Quote: that looks great . . . i just wish it wasnt such a pain in the *** to do it. I live in an apt complex and dont really have the room, etc to do this. Any idea of how much maybe a shop would charge?
find a friend w/ a garage or you can do what i used to do take the stuff off...replace the bumper and take the lights to your place and work on them

Congrats on all the hard work you put into the job. In my opinion, it would have looked better if it was a true black, rather than a grey, but it still looks nice.

i really wouldn't trust anyone other than me to do that much work, because shops can mess something up and you will never know until you later discover it and get pissed...it sucks about your room issue, but...yea and a shop would charge more like 500-600 because of the intensity of the labor that is involved, and the fact that they have to keep the car there while the paint dries, and the charge you for that...but do what you want dude, its your car, not mine...

Is the paint glossy? Or is it more like powder coating?

God that look so cool! I just dont want to do all the work, and on top of that the idea of having to stick my headlights in the oven to melt that stuff just freaks me out!

I was like a cat on a hot tin roof when I did this to my Supra headlights way back in '98. No fear at all now. Too bad there isn't a glass version for the IS like there is for the Supra. I'd much rather glass, it never yellows.

Love how that looks painted. Especially, with that giant amber reflector removed. I can deal with the large gap, as long as it is not a color and furthermore, an ugly reflective color like orange/amber. You did a great job with this mod.

My buddy took his plastic Supra headlights apart and removed most of the yellow. He then retrofitted to the glass and it looks ten times better IMO.
