It's raining Cats & IS's
I've seen maybe 4 or 5 in the last three months, and not one for the last 2-3 weeks. None of my "sightings" have been more than a few seconds either, so it's not even like I can get a good look at one on the road! I kind of thought there'd be more of them around by now. I'm going between Seattle and the Eastside pretty often...

Is there a way to tell RWD & AWD apart without looking inside?
I don't actually own one yet, just researching.
Have only seen ONE in Kansas City in the past 2 months. It was the beautiful glacier mica and looked spectacular roaring past me on 1-435 doing about 80 in the far left lane. So fast that I couldn't tell if it was a 250 or 350.

has KS Highway Patrol Crown Vics every 3-4 miles, and the posted limit is 65.
Us old guys feel like we're doing plenty at 75-80...can't imagine what it was like at 125. I guess out in the desert on a big, flat deserted stretch...

But if you want another way, you can look at the rear tires. The RWD cars have a staggered setup with wider tires in the rear (either 245/45-17 or 255/40-18), while the AWD cars have the same 225/45-17 tires on all four corners.

I've been shopping around for a 350 here in Southern Cali, to my surprise I only see 3-5 IS's on each dealer lot. Heck, Riverside even have a waiting list. Went to Longo Lexus last night, they have about 40 IS's. So anyone shopping for an IS, they've got a whole bunch. They only have one Glacier Frost Mica though. But I do see 2-4 IS's everyday on the road.

One time I had a clear lane so I gunned it up to like 90-95, and the E-class behind me stayed right on my tail... Then passed me. Turns out it was an E55.

The two places that I had the most fun is to drive in NY is the saw mill in Westchester and the palisades parkway in Rockland. Thats where I have hit 125 on the palisades. If you go to far north the road isn't as good and you have to watch out for the Deer
I wouldn't want to see that. And don't take the palisades into NJ the cops are everywhere. It not like i was traveling the whole time at 125, thats just dumb, but I have pushed it and came right back down.

I live in the east bay and I've also seen more IS 250/350 on both sides of the bay. It's always nice to watch it move in the sunlight on a clear day. Hopefully more warm days will be coming in the months ahead. I'm sick and tired of the rain.
