I personally do not know too much about cars, engines etc... in fact that is an understatement, but I am learning.. I am curious to know how the 2nd generation IS compares in terms of how fast/quick it is with the 1st generation. I am pretty confident to say that I know that the 350 tops the old 300 but how do the 250 AWD, RWD, and MT compare to the 300's? Just curious to know what everyone has to say.

 

The quick and easy answer is that the 350 is a LOT faster than the old 300, and the 250 is a little slower than the old 300.

Something like:

IS350 >>>>>>>>>>>>> IS300 >> IS250

But that's just in terms of speed obviously. The new models offer a lot more in terms of ammenities.

 

IS350 is for the ones who want more performance. The IS300 did not have other variants in N/A so it had decent power + luxury. The IS250 is for those who do not care or want the power of the 350 but rather enjoy the luxury features, the "better" fuel economy, and/or the AWD. That's what I think...

 

i think the handeling wise the IS300 is much better.. it feels lighter..
