2IS is my second Lexus. ES350 is my third (actually my husband's). Now, we are thinking about SC430.

I have a question. I hope it's not stupid, but I'm currently overseas and do not have access to a dealership or anything right now. But after some research and reading on here, I have fallen in love with this car. I plan on test driving on when I go home (back to the states) for thanksgiving. I have read alot of ppl having to wait once you order. is it still like that or are you more likly to beable to go and pick on up on the spot? I will more then likly be shopping in the Miami, Orlando, or Jax area early next year. Then I have to drive to Jax to have it shipped to where I live.

It depends on how flexible you are on options, colors, etc. If you are reasonably flexible I'm sure you'll be able to drive one off the lot. If you want a car configured to your exact specifications -- especially if it is a car that it isn't in the standard allocations for your geographic area, you may have to special order and wait four months.

Thanks Bichon.. I wasn't picky last time I bought a car, but I could not afford to be picky back then. But now I want to get what I want. if I do have to order then maybe I can do it from here and then go back to the states to pick it up. From what I have been reading there are deffinatly some things I want to get. I cannot wait to test drive one, let alone own one.

Thanks again..

IS is my first lexus, third one in the family. My mother had an '05 RX and traded it in for her '06 ISAWD.

The 2IS will be my second Lexus.

In its 50,000 miles, my '01 IS300 never returned to the dealer for anything other than routine maintenance. It was totalled March of last year. Otherwise, I'd still be driving it today as I loved every minute of owning it.

I can't wait to get back into an IS as my daily driver. The 325i I've been driving in the meantime has been a nightmare in terms of reliability. I can't wait to look over my shoulder at my IS everytime I walk away from it in parking lots. It's a great feeling.

3rd Lexus, 1st was a RX300 (MY2000), then a RX330 (05) and now added the IS 250 AWD. However, have had 14 Toyota's so have had lots of experience with the brand/mfg.
