sorry this is a stupid question, but do you put the red vinyl over only the amber section or the whole taillight?

Fair question, in the above pics it's just been put over the amber, but I've also seen kits that cover the entire light. With cut-outs for the reverse lights. Personally I think it'd be easier to just cover the amber portion.

i just did this mod yesterday and i must admit the IS does look much better with the entire unit being red rather than having the yellow there. It was also a lot easier to do than i expected.

Cool, which kit did you use, did you cut it out yourself or was it a pre-cut kit?

i ordered from rvinyl.com so i had to cut it myself. Wasnt that bad since i just got tracing paprer and outlined the area i wanted to cover then cut it against the back of the red side. Granted once someone comes up with pre-cut stencils of this area it would make the mod even that much easier.

The Mercedes CLK's have red taillights that light up amber.

did the red-out today in about 20-25 mins...very easy...I must admit it looks cleaner/better especially since I have a red car. Actually, I was just curious to see how it looked....I like it and will keep them RED

by the way, for those that need to get the redout material, if you use rvinyl.com...for a 10% discount code = RVINYL...

I'm surprised this wasn't already posted....a bunch of people bought there - this discount card was in my order.

Are you saying you get 10 percent off the order, or you get a 10 percent discount card for a future order?

In my box I got a 10% off card saying "use this code, RVINYL, for 10% discount for future purchases"

feel free to use it....its not a one time use thing.
