Ipod connection
Has anyone had a problem with the volume level on the aux input? I have my ipod hooked up with a basic mini-jack patch cable from best buy but I have to turn the volume all the way up on my ipod to even really be able to hear it and even then there's a lot of background noise. any suggestions? Thanks
I spent a while looking for a good cable and eventually found this:
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cg.../item/SP-HEC-4
It's only 2 feet long, which is actually plenty of length to be able to hold up the iPod, but not long enough to create a coiled mess in my armrest. There are also 90 degree connectors, which I like.
As others have said, the system is only as good as the weakest link, and for most of us out there, that's going to be the mp3 player/compressed songs - even at 192 kbps.

Using your cable the signal is actually running through two amplifiers, the headphone amplifier and the one in the car. With the Sik cable (or any other one that uses the dock connector), you are bypassing the headphone amp and connecting directly to the line level output.
I am new to the forum. Just ordered a 250 AWD.
I am very intrigued by the SiK device and I was wondering if anyone knows of a firewire connector to the car power outlet to keep the iPod charged. This seems like a much better solution than the headphone jack.
