Dirty Girl
Hi everyone:
I figured I'd post some pics.
The lowdown:
IS250 AWD. Brought her home the day after Thanksgiving. Negotiated $2000 below MSRP. Haven't had a chance to give the car a bath since then, particularly with the weather up here in the Northeast. Today I drove the car in the snow for the first time. Handled like it was on rails.
I love everything about the car. I'm not going to win any races but the power is adequate. The car feels very planted and vault-like.
This car is light-years ahead of my former car, a 2005 Mercedes C230K in terms of electonics and in-car navigation and entertainment. Despite the alleged incompatibility between the Treo 650 and newly produced Lexus cars, I was able to pair up the two of them, and all works nicely except for a few hiccups, though not bad enough to warrant buying another (compatible) cellphone exclusively for the car. It was also cool playing MP3 cds; I've got two discs playing right now with a total of approx. 200 songs at 192bits. Still, I'm missing Satellite Radio dearly.
The only "mod" I will do on this car is satellite radio, from which I have had "withdrawal" since I traded in my Mercedes a couple of weeks ago, which had OEM Sirius installed. Now that I have learned that Sirius is not carrying FOX NEWS as of 1/1/06, I'm going to go with XM instead. (I have XM in our Yukon and at home). I just have a problem shelling out approx. $1000!!! I may just go the route of a separate receiver inside the arm rest, hooked up to the AUX-IN. You can get a tiny Roady XT with rebates for about as little as $35. Can't go wrong.
It's nice to be here. Here are the pics. Any questions let me know.

Thanks for the photos of the MP3 compatability. Looks good!
So I guess you just burn a CD with just 1 folder deep.
artist > songs.
Have you tried any that were 2 folders deep?
artist > album > songs
I need to hurry up and order my 250....

MP3 cds
Yeah, so far I've only burnt a couple of CDs. One Root folder (i.e., Lexusmusik1, 2, 3, etc) and then one subfolder per artist containing songs from tha particular artist.
About the phone pad: Yes, you can dial from the touch screen. There is still so much to learn in terms of programming numbers, voicetags and comands; I've yet to set aside the time to learn new stuff. The manual overwhelms you with information.
All official sources say the Treo 650 is incompatible with lexus. THat does not seem to be the case except, I will admit, the interface is not entirely flawless. For instance, sometimes on and off the dial pad will "grey out" and become inoperable, even though the two devices are fully paired up and there is signal coverage. I guess I'll take the system as is over having to buy a new phone!
