Default Shipping time for IS

My dealer told me my IS would be shipped from overseas on Nov. 28th, he called me on Dec. 1st and said the car was here already, does this sound right? Could the car have gotten here that quick?

If the boat was leaving the port on the 28th, no.
I believe the time the car spends on the boat crossing the ocean is at least a week. Then the time it spends in port, getting loaded on a truck or train and sent to your local dealer.
They probably had a car with your specs come in an earlier shipment or they found one somewhere else.

Or maybe your dealer meant your car would reach US shores on the 28th. Then that would make more sense.

But either way, congrats!

It is common for dealers to give customers a later-than-actual arrival date to allow for unforseen delays. Not to mention everyone likes to be surprised with "early" arrival of their new baby--increases customer satisfaction. It doesn't matter if the car just got off the boad yesterday or a week ago, as long as it's in brand new condition.

Exactly, just as long as the car is in new condition, I don't care when it arrived. How many miles should the car have on it? I've bought a lot of brand new cars, the last one had 3.5 miles one it.

Default I am waiting!!! And waiting!!

I am also waiting for my IS 250 AWD w\ Nav.... Yawn... While I drive my Dodge rental B/C I had to turn my 04 G35 coupe in 2 weeks ago...

I spoke with my dealer (Ray Catena Lexus in Oakhurst) On 12-1 and he advised me the car was on a boat arriving into port on November 28th.... And I may see the car by the weekend or Monday/Tuesday...

I cannot wait any longer! I need out of this DODGE!!!

Help!

i too was very impatient while waiting for my IS to come in a few weeks ago. All in all i waited a total of 2 weeks when i got a surprise call saying it was already in. The way i got thru it was by thinking how "fortunate " i was for simply waiting for a brand spanking new IS when theres a whole lotta people out there who cant even think of purchasing one. Im sure those who are in that boat surely wouldnt mind waiting at all. Just my two cents.
