Default Why Would Lexus Do This?

Just got an email from Lexus Marketing about a new car review for the IS by NewCarTestDrive.com. The link takes you to the lexus site:

http://www.lexus.com/models/is/road_...05:IS:RoadTest

The article says great things about the Lexus and, of course, the last line reads: But BMW still has an edge when it comes to claiming itself the ultimate driving machine.

So:

1) Why does every columnist say that exact same phrase at the end of every article without providing any relevant objective information, and

2) Why would Lexus put that on their site?

It's still a good review overall of the IS and praises it nicely. The BMW comparison is unavoidable and for Lexus to put up a review but edit it to remove things that are "unfavorable" would look underhanded. So it's in their best interest to put up a favorable review with some comparison comments to show the competitive nature of Lexus and the vehicle.

I honestly think that there is an established understanding between BMW and journalists. I really think that they are monetarily taken care of by BMW to make such statements. Someone is getting rich
